*Twizzler
was born just a few days after moving to our new farm in 2005. I wasn't
expecting her for another 2-3 weeks, but her mom has never been one to follow
orders, so Twiz came early. She was a surprise with her striking white head and
4 matched socks, but a cute surprise. Being a typical "Andy baby" Twiz
was people friendly and easy to handle from day 1. As Twizzler got older
it became obvious that this little filly was going to stay pony sized for the
duration. At a year of age, she stands 12.2 and is smaller then the foals from
2006. Small she may be but she has an engaging personality and lots of presence.
She is full of spunk and energy but remains very responsive and easy to
handle.
This winter we decided to bring the youngsters into the barn via the old cow ramp at the back. It is steep and very different then what most horses are used to, but it only took Twiz about 10 seconds to decide that going up it was a good and easy thing to do. There was FOOD at the other end of that ramp and she was gonna be the first to get it. LOL. So now this cute little filly climbs up and down cow ramps with the best of them. I doubt she will ever had a problem loading into a trailer. She has also been the first one to go wading in the river when we took them down last winter to see it. The other youngsters had to watch her go out in it before they would go.
The more I know Twizzler the more I like her. She has so much of what I love about her mom Andy. I just know that this little filly will be someone's treasure. She is very very curly, built well, a wonderful temperament and she has wonderful movement. She will make an excellent riding pony for some lucky person .
