Ah well,
what to say about Marq. Well he was my second foal born here, and certainly one
of the ugliest ones we had that year.. Okay, probably the ugliest we ever
had.. But he was so ugly he was cute.. And he certainly was the most personable
of the bunch that year.. What can you do with a colt like that? 
Well
I decided to make peace with the fact that he would probably be around for a
long time, and decided early on to give him an important job to do. Marq was
assigned to be Troy's companion. They have lived together since they were born
and have always been best buddies. Marq never gets pushed around by Troy
and his "big bad stallion" games, he just pushes right back and
hold his own.
As the years went by, Marq surprised me by pulling an "ugly duckling" routine and has grown into a rather handsome five year old. He is still the class clown and is always looking for ways to help out his people. He is the first to come at a gallup in the field and the last one to wait at the gate when you leave him. He is smart and gentle and loads of fun to have around..
Marq has been lightly started under saddle and has proven to be a wonderful blend of his parents attributes. He is smart and sensetive, but not hot or spooky. We have had him out on the trails where he has been a willing leader and shown lots of willingness for such a green horse. Marq will make a fabulous horse for someone who has a bit of experience and wants the fun of finishing him the way they want him. A custom trained horse, what fun. Marq has been in our family for a long time and we will be doing our best to insure a good match between him and his new family.
